Silver slippers

I tend to buy Athletic shoes based on price and rudimentary fit.  I don’t wear them anywhere but the gym and since I tend to use machines with fairly low impact, I don’t even worry too much about ‘sport science’ behind the shoe.  No pumps or translucent over-engineered bouncy support things in the heel or modified arches or whatever one needs to run a 5k these days.

So the last time I needed a new pair, I found some that fit – seemed comfortable and were very, very shiny.  In fact, they were silver and pink Skechers.  I’m not much known for wearing pink, but they were cheap, in fact they were on clearance from a discount store.  Besides it’s good to take fashion risks every now and then.

Ace.

Until I got home. And my husband laughed at them.  He said that he was pretty sure they were the same shoes advertised by Miley Cyrus of Hannah Montana fame.  He called them my Miley Cyrus shoes.  And that kinda took the shine off them.   Which wasn’t easy – because they are, after all, a quite bright silver.

Over time the taunting wore me down.  And today I decided to get myself some new trainers.  Nice white converse leather trainers.  Very cheap from a discount store.  And they’re not pink.  In fact, they only had a touch of color – red.  But better yet, these shoes are customizable.  Sweet!  See those little swatches.  Those are interchangeable color panels.

So, of course, I installed the orange option.
